# How to interface / integrate the Smart Certificate platform with IT systems?

The grant service allows to request for the granting of Smart Certificates for a specific learning program. It gives the flexibility to request manual or automated activation of these certificates. Our customers may also take responsibility for notifying the graduates of their new certification, or let us notify them using their email template. In return for a call from our GRANT web service, they will receive detailed confirmation of the successful grant as well as activation details. If they decide to automatically activate the certificates, we will also send them the certificate preview and download link so they can embed them in their own web portal.
